No Boundaries是《美国偶像》节目第八季的冠军单曲。由美国偶像第八季的评委之一Kara Dioguardi联合Cathy Dennis, Mitch Allan创作，有Adam Lambert和Kris Allen两个版本。

第八季《美国偶像》的决赛在赛前大热Adam Lambert和黑马Kris Allen中展开。决赛共分三轮，第一轮是选手自选之前表演过的歌曲进行重新演绎，第二轮是由制作人Simon Fuller选择歌曲，第三轮是演唱本季比赛冠军单曲《No Boundaries》。

Kris Allen和Adam Lambert状态神勇，前两轮均表现良好，评委Simon判定前两轮两人各下一城。但在第三轮的比赛中，冠军单曲的曲风及特点似乎并不适合两名选手，两名选手均表现欠佳。而Adam Lambert这首歌的录音棚版本演绎的却甚是精彩，让人不得不怀疑Adam Lambert决赛当晚的表现受制于他之前只有两个小时的短暂睡眠休息——此前因为不停的接受各路媒体的采访以及其他的准备工作导致Adam Lambert决赛前夜几乎没有睡觉。赛后的许多评论人纷纷质疑这首冠军单曲。同时，赛后，各大网站纷纷预测冠军，其中绝大多数预测Adam Lambert将获得本季冠军。

在第二天的结果秀中，Kris和Keith Urban合唱了《Kiss a Girl》，表现流畅自然，两人配合极其完美。Adam则与KISS乐队合唱了KISS的组曲，从开始Adam独唱的《Beth》到后面具有强烈摇滚风格的几首歌，无不显示了Adam的王者气概，将场内外的气氛带到最高潮。

随后主持人Ryan宣布结果，在近一亿张投票后，获得第八季《美国偶像》冠军的是Kris Allen！黑马一黑到底，完成了从路人到冠军的梦。大热的Adam Lambert屈居亚军。这个结果让许多的主流媒体和音乐人感到吃惊。当场就有观众以退场表示抗议，有一位女士喃喃自语：“我本来以为这是一场唱歌比赛。”“毒舌评委”Simon Cowell则以拒绝起立鼓掌的方式对比赛结果表示不满。

No boundaries是一首很励志的歌，给人向上的力量。

Adam Lambert的演唱较为激昂，以钢琴为前奏，嗓音较为高亢华丽。而Kris Allen的声音比较沙哑，以吉他的扫弦开头，虽然这首歌的key对他来说高了一点，但可以说两者各有闪光点有其闪光处。在歌曲的高潮部分两人均使用了电吉他。Kris在决赛现场当场忘词，而且Adam的调也比Kris的高了一些，相比之下略有劣势。而Adam对这首歌的出色的改编和演绎博得了原创者Kara如下的评价：“我感谢你在最后一刻给我带来如此美好的享受。”

赛果出来之后，《今日美国》做出了如下的评价：“Kris Allen的夺冠只是两次证明了他无法驾驭这首歌。”

Adam和Kris二人都出了EP，Kris的版本在市场上没有博得大众的喜欢，大量的媒体都在批评这首歌如何的不是。相反，Adam的EP收到Billboard的正面评价：There's a slight hitch in his voice, but Lambert gets more comfortable as the rock-of-the-'80s orchestration builds to mind-boggling crescendos. Throwing caution to the wind, and maybe even leaving his cake out in the rain, Lambert shows on this towering if inelegant power ballad he can 'weather the hurricane.
